Will volunteers receive training prior to the event?  YES!! The Tim Tebow Foundation requires that all volunteers receive training prior to our Night to
Shine prom. All volunteers will be required to attend a MANDATORY training meeting so we will be hosting 3 meetings, but you only need to come to 1. Our meetings will be in Dec. and Jan (Dates, Times TBA), you will receive an email as these dates draw near and we will also be informing you through our Facebook page…Night to Shine-Visalia, Ca. (Be sure to give us a LIKE and SHARE IT) Please stay informed of all meeting info as it becomes available, because if you don’t attend a meeting unfortunately you won’t be able to participate with us the night of the event.

Do you require background checks for volunteers under age 18, & over age 18?
If you have children under age 18 who would like to volunteer,  parents or guardians must sign a permission release.  Adult supervision is required for volunteers under the age of 16. We do require background checks for all volunteers, ages 18 and older.

AS A GUEST, WHAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
Every guest of Night to Shine enters the event on a red carpet complete with a warm welcome from a friendly crowd and paparazzi. Guests receive the royal treatment, including hair and makeup touch-up stations, shoe shining stations, limousine rides, corsages and boutonnieres, a karaoke room, catered dinner, prom favors for each honored guest, a Respite Room for parents and caregivers and, of course, dancing! Each honored guest receives a crown or tiara because YOU are all kings and queens!

Are guests allowed to come as a couple, do they still need two buddies?
Yes and Yes! We will still give them two buddies, as we want to be fully prepared for bathroom breaks, assisting our honored guests with food, dancing, etc.

Can a guest bring their own buddy?
We will not be pre-assigning buddies, however, we understand that in some cases a relationship may have been established prior to Night to Shine. If a guest would like to bring their own buddy, that is perfectly fine, provided their buddy registers as a volunteer, attends volunteer training and receives a background check for the safety of all the honored guests at the event.

WHAT DO GUESTS WEAR? IS THERE A DRESS CODE?
As this is a special occasion, we encourage our honored guests to dress nicely, which may include prom gowns for the ladies, and suits or tuxes for the men. However, there is no official dress code, as we want our guests to feel comfortable on their special night!

I AM A CAREGIVER. DO I NEED TO STAY WITH MY GUEST?
Caregivers are not required to stay with their guests during the Night to Shine event. Every honored guest will receive a personal chaperone, or “buddy,” who will remain with the guest throughout the entire evening.

I AM A CAREGIVER AND WANT TO REMAIN ON CAMPUS DURING THE EVENT. IS THIS POSSIBLE?
We recognize, value, and love our guests parents and caregivers! For this reason, part of our campus is dedicated to you during the event. Our Respite Room area will provide caregivers with a comfortable place to enjoy the evening. Complimentary dinner,  dessert, and drinks (non-alcoholic) will be served. We will offer some sort of entertainment, relaxation, and a prayer team (in case anyone needs prayer or just wants to talk) etc. We will be limiting this number to TWO per honored guest.  As much as this night is about our honored guests it’s also about their parents/caregivers. We want to honor you incredible parents, family members and caretakers for your lifetime commitment to caring for your loved ones with special needs. Our vision is to provide you remarkable people with the opportunity to rest and enjoy a night off, knowing that your loved ones are having an amazing time in a safe environment with a personally assigned “buddy”.

I AM A PARENT/CAREGIVER AND WANT TO CHECK ON MY GUEST. IS THIS POSSIBLE?
We understand that you may want to periodically check on your guest, however, for the safety of all of our guests, parents and caregivers will only be allowed inside the event under very specific circumstances (ie: if their guest requires assistance in the restroom). Prior to the red carpet entrance, you and your guest will meet the chaperone/buddy who will remain with your guest throughout the event. This will give you an opportunity to review emergency contact information and discuss any concerns with the assigned buddy.

IS NIGHT TO SHINE A CHRISTIAN EVENT?
